4Wave Inc.
Receives ITAR Registration
February 11,
2009 4Wave Inc., a leading ion
beam equipment manufacturer and thin film coating
house, announced today that it has received its
International Traffic in Arms Regulations( ITAR )
registration from the US Department of State, US
Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. ITAR
Compliance is a key 4Wave strategic program to
support its military and home land security
customers. The program enhances 4Wave's existing
Intellectual Property and Document control policy
and helps to protect the sensitive products and
data of its customers.
The ITAR
Registration means that 4Wave is uniquely
positioned to fully support defense related
projects in the United States. Companies that are
based in the United States but owned by foreign
companies or non-Americans, make them ineligible
for ITAR compliance.
ITAR is a set of
United States government regulations designed to
control the information and materials of military
related technologies. ITAR ensures that military
technologies are only shared with United States
nationals and persons with special exemption from
the Department of State. Upon verification of a
company's ITAR compliance, an ITAR Registration
Code is assigned and certifies the company's
clearance to work in conjunction with the US
military and its counterparts. Additionally, ITAR
certification expresses the company's obligation
to handle ITAR protected products while abiding by
all ITAR regulations.
"Receiving ITAR
registration is a significant milestone for 4Wave
which demonstrates our commitment to our defense
related customers," said Sami Antrazi, President
of 4Wave. "As customer requirements increase for
higher quality and more exotic alloy thin film
materials, 4Wave has experienced an increase in
our coating services. Several of these new clients
are defense related and our ITAR registration and
compliance is a critical requirement to winning
the business" says Trey Middleton, VP of business
development.
